Director's Interests in Shares

Eleco plc (the 'Company') announces purchases totalling 116,319 Ordinary 10p
Shares in the Company in respect of which a Director, Mr J H B Ketteley, is
interested as follows:

     -     100,000 shares purchased on 15 March 2000 at 28p per share;

     -     16,319 shares purchased under personal equity plans on 13 March
           2000 at 27.5p per share.

Mr Ketteley's interests in the Company's Ordinary Shares now stand at 2,426,848
shares and options/awards over 324,695 shares.
