Block Listing Application

The Board of Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces that the Company has made an application to the UK Listing Authority for a block listing of 2,472,715 ordinary shares of 5p each ("Shares") to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock Exchange for the Shares to be admitted to trading on the premium segment of the Main Market for listed securities.

The Company has an existing shareholder authority to issue up to 5 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital on a non-pre-emptive basis which was obtained at the AGM in January 2017. The Board has determined that this authority may be utilised to satisfy market demand by issuing new Shares at a premium to NAV. Shares will be issued under the block listing to satisfy continuing demand that cannot be met through the secondary market, and the proceeds of share issuance under the block listing will be used for investment in accordance with the Company's investment policy.

The block listing is expected to become effective at 8 a.m. on 15 January 2018. Any issue of new Shares will be notified by the Company through a RIS announcement.
