The directors of Edinburgh New Income Trust plc announce that a second interim
dividend of 1.0p per ordinary share be declared in respect of the year to 31 May
2006.  The dividend is payable on 17 February 2006 to shareholders on the
register on 27 January 2006.  The ex-dividend date is 25 January 2006.
