Edinburgh New Income Trust plc ("ENIT") announces that James Laing has been appointed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited ("Aberdeen") as joint portfolio manager of the Company. In this role James will work alongside Charles Luke, ENIT's other portfolio manager.  James, the Deputy Head of UK and European Equities at Aberdeen, has replaced Stewart Methven, who has decided to join Aberdeen's Global Equities team. The Board of ENIT would like to record their thanks to him for his contribution to the management of the Company and its predecessor trusts and wish him well for the future.
