On 13 July 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
75,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 513p. Following the buy
back, there are 289,023,471 ordinary shares in issue. The share buy-back will
be financed out of the capital reserve.
