On 10 August 2001, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
500,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 446p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 248,496,714 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
