On 25 January 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
40,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 494.25p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 278,287,364 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
