On 23 March 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
45,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 543.56p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 264,985,577 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
