On 20 March 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
2,035,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 538p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 265,397,364 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
