On 21 January 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
50,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 495.8p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 278,327,364 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
