On 17 November 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
1,559,107 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 506p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 281,850,364 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
