On 16 July 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
400,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at an average price of 508.25p.
Following the buy back, there are 288,423,471 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
