On 27 September 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
64,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 470.0p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 284,109,471 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
