On 3 September 1999, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
100,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 490p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 285,313,471 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
