Cyber Security Event - London - 9 May 2017

The cyber security essentials - why it matters and how to prepare your organisation

ECSC Group plc, a proven provider of cyber security services in the UK, is hosting a breakfast briefing at 8.30am on Tuesday 9 May 2017 in Central London to demystify the complex topic of cyber security.  The briefing will look at the most pressing cyber threats facing businesses; the latest trends, and proven strategies for companies to best protect and overcome potential breaches.

The recent proliferation of high profile cyber security breaches affecting some of the world's largest companies and the UK Government now confirming the implementation of the new General Data Protection Regulation ('GDPR') from 25 May 2018, which could see companies face penalties and fines of up to 4% of turnover for breaches, has placed cyber security as a vital strategic issue for company boards.

The breakfast briefing is targeted towards executive board members, corporate professionals and investors and will help identify the following:

·    What preventive cyber security measures companies should be prioritising?

·    What questions you should be asking your IT teams/CTO?

·      What action plan do you have if your company is hit by a breach?

·    What are the real implications of the GDPR for UK companies' cyber security requirements. What are the key challenges in meeting the new legal requirement of reporting within 72 hours?

·    Why do some of the latest security technologies not deliver?

·    How could a cyber security attack affect your investments?

ECSC has over 16 years' experience in the prevention of cyber security breaches, incident response and managing ICO reporting.  Its services are trusted by a wide variety of leading multinational corporations and its client list boasts 10% of the FTSE 100.

Ian Mann, CEO and founder of ECSC, will host the briefing. He was previously an adviser for GCHQ. Ian's professional certifications include CISSP, PCIDSS, QSA, and ISO Lead Auditor and he is also a critically acclaimed author. His books include Hacking the Human - Social Engineering Techniques and Countermeasures and Hacking the Human 2 - The Adventures of a Social Engineer.
