                            Transaction in own shares

Dunelm announces that on 14 March 2008 it purchased for Treasury 250,000
ordinary shares of 1 pence each at a price of  164 pence per share. The highest
price paid was 164 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 164 pence per
share.

This purchase equates to approximately 0.12 per cent. of the Company's total
issued share capital.

Following the purchase of these shares, Dunelm holds 845,000 of its shares in
Treasury and has 199,946,406 ordinary  shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
