                             Transaction in own shares

Dunelm announces that on 4 March 2008 it purchased for Treasury 220,000 ordinary
shares of 1 pence each at a price of  152.6975 pence per share. The highest
price paid was 153 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 149 pence per 
share.

This purchase equates to approximately 0.11 per cent. of the Company's total
issued share capital.

Following the purchase of these shares, Dunelm holds 494,994 of its shares in
Treasury and has 200,296,406 ordinary  shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
