Transaction in Own Securities

The Company announces that it has today (19/11/04) purchased in the market for
cancellation £400,000 nominal of its 7 7/8 Per Cent. Debenture Stock 2019 ("2019
Debentures").

Following cancellation, £29,600,000 nominal of 2019 Debentures will remain in
issue together with £40,000,000 nominal of 11 1/2 Per cent. Debenture Stock
2016.
