DRIVER GROUP AFRICA - CONTRACT WINS

Driver, the global construction consultancy, is pleased to announce that its South African subsidiary Driver Group Africa (Pty) Ltd has been appointed to provide lead transaction and financial advisory services to the National and respective Provincial Departments of Health in South Africa on two new hospital projects, in joint venture with Deloittes and BnP Capital. These projects relate to the King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban in the Eastern Cape and the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha, KwaZulu Natal. The new projects are expected to generate around £1.6m of gross revenue for the JV over a period of approximately three years.

The King Edward VIII hospital in Durban will be a fully developed Tertiary and Teaching hospital and the Nelson Mandela Hospital in Mthatha will provide a fully developed and functioning Tertiary/Academic Hospital and an integrated teaching environment in the Eastern Cape province.

Driver Group Africa was previously appointed in June 2011 as Transaction Advisor for the new Dr. George Mukhari academic hospital in Gauteng province. Driver Group Africa is now involved in three out of the five healthcare projects forming part of the Hospital Revitalisation Programme announced by the South African President in his 2010 State of the Nation address and classified as national priorities.
