Drax Group plc announces that on 11 October 2007 it purchased for cancellation
425,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 620.678 pence per share.

Following the purchase and upon cancellation of these shares, the number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in issue will be 345,560,804.
