The board of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC (the 'Company') announces that it
received notification on 22 January 2001 that Hermes Pension Management is
interested in 1,593,530 ordinary 1p shares in the Company, representing 3.2%
of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.  The holding is registered as
