                             Director Shareholding

The Board of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC ('Dechra' or the 'Company') announces
that it was notified on 25 September 2002 that Mike Redmond purchased 25,000
ordinary shares in Dechra at 126p per share on 24 September 2002. Following the
purchase, Mike Redmond is beneficially interested in 35,000 ordinary shares, or
0.07 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
