De La Rue has received on 10 March 2003 the following notification dated 10
March 2003.

LFG Holdings Limited ('LFG') beneficially holds 5,475,050 ordinary shares in De
La Rue plc and as a consequence of this LFG is interested in 5,475,050 ordinary
shares in the capital of De La Rue plc for the purposes of Part VI of the
Companies Act 1985.  The said 5,475,050 ordinary shares (3.01% of the number of
shares in issue) are (or will be) registered in the name of Pershing Keen
Nominees Limited on completion of the following transactions:

200,000 shares purchased on 5 March 2003; and
300,000 shares purchased on 6 March 2003.
