De La Rue plc has received on 7 February 2000 the following notification dated
6 February 2001 from Britannic Asset Management who have a notifiable interest
in the Ordinary issued share capital of the Company.

'In compliance with Part VI of the Companies Act 1985, we write to inform you
of the new aggregate shareholding in your company held by Britannic Investment
Managers Limited.

Following the disposal of 352,000 shares we now have an aggregate holding of
7,447,684 ordinary shares (3.86%) as at 5 February 2001. This represents a
decrease in our notifiable interest from 4.06% to 3.86% of the shares in
issue.'
