De La Rue PLC 23 February 2005 DE LA RUE PLC NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD CHANGE The Board of De La Rue plc announced today that Sir Jeremy Greenstock has been appointed as a non-executive director with effect from 1 March 2005. Sir Jeremy, 61, is one of Britain's foremost diplomats, with a distinguished career spanning 35 years in a variety of high profile roles. For five years, until his retirement from HM Diplomatic Service in 2003, Sir Jeremy served as Britain's U.N. Ambassador in New York and Permanent Representative on the U.N. Security Council. From 2003 to 2004 he completed a posting as HM Government's UK Special Representative for Iraq. Sir Jeremy is Director of the Ditchley Foundation and a Special Adviser to BP plc. Commenting on the appointment Nicholas Brookes, Chairman of De La Rue plc said: 'Sir Jeremy is one of the finest diplomats of his generation. His wealth of experience and high international standing, particularly after his work at the United Nations, will prove invaluable to De La Rue, as will his knowledge of Middle Eastern Affairs. I am sure he will make a valuable contribution to the Board and the strategic direction of the Group.'
