Non Executive Board Changes


De La Rue plc announces the following changes relating to its non executive directors. Keith Hodgkinson, who was appointed a non executive director of the Company on 19 April 2000, has informed the Board that he wishes to retire as a director with effect from 31 December 2009. Until then he will continue as the senior independent non executive director, position he has held since 26 July 2007.With effect from 1 April 2009 Warren East, who was appointed a non executive director on 9 January 2007, will become chairman of the Audit Committee in place of Mr Hodgkinson. 

 Sir Jeremy Greenstock, who was appointed a director on 1 March 2005, will become the senior independent non executive director on 1 January 2010.

Gill Rider was appointed a non executive director of De La Rue on 22 June 2006 and is chairman of its Remuneration Committee She is also Director General, Cabinet Office.  Following De La Rue's confirmation that it is participating in the UK Passport bid, Ms Rider has decided with immediate effect to step down temporarily from the Board of De La Rue whilst the contract for the UK passport is under consideration by the Identity and Passport Service. 

During Ms Rider's temporary absence from the board, Dr Philip Nolan will be acting chairman of the Remuneration Committee. Dr Nolan, who was appointed a director on 1 September 2001, has also informed the Board that he wishes to retire as a director at the conclusion of the Company's AGM on 23 July 2009.
