AGM Statement

De La Rue PLC 22 July 2004 DE LA RUE PLC 2004 AGM STATEMENT At the Annual General Meeting of De La Rue plc to be held today, Sir Brandon Gough, Chairman, will be making the following statement: 'Trading during the first four months of the year has been good, in particular benefiting from the exceptionally high opening order book within the Currency business. Accordingly, the Board expects first half results to be significantly ahead of the previous year. Although, as noted in May, it is not expected that full year volumes in Currency will reach the exceptional levels of 2003/2004 which benefited from the Iraq order, the Board continues to be confident in the full year outlook for the Group.' -ends- For further information please contact: Stephen King Group Finance Director +44 (0)1256 605307 Mark Fearon Head of Corporate Affairs +44 (0)1256 605303 Richard Mountain Financial Dynamics +44 (0)207 269 7291 22 July 2004 Note to Editors: 1.
