DE LA RUE COMPLETES ACQUISITIONS

1.  De La Rue announces that it has today completed the purchase of the   
    international cash handling activities of Ascom Autelca AG, the Swiss 
    telecommunications and service automation group, details of which were 
    announced on 4 February 2000.

2.  Further to De La Rue's announcement on 20 March 2000, the acquisition of 
    the digital certification business of Inter Clear Service Limited was 
    completed yesterday, 13 April 2000.
