The Issuer advises that the following  replaces the announcement released on the
28 August 2002 at 13.11 RNS No: 4624A . The Number of Shares held is 8,694,103
not 8,690,096, the % of Issued Share Capital after transaction is 9% not 10% and
of these shares 8,523,761 units are registered in the name of Bank of Ireland
Nominees Limited not 8,519,754 as previously stated. The first paragraph also
outlines the explanation for this correction.

A Letter from Bank of Ireland Asset Management Limited dated the 28 August 2002
to DCC Plc, received by the Irish Stock Exchange on the 29 August 2002.


      Notification of Transaction in Shares of Public Limited Companies


I refer to Chapter 2 of Part IV of the Companies Act 1990 which requires
disclosure of certain interests in Public Limited Company to the Exchange and to
my letter of August 26, 2002. Please note that the disclosure we made in
connection with our holding in DCC ordinary stock was made using the incorrect
issued share capital figure.

In this regard I am to notify you on behalf of Bank of Ireland Nominees Limited
of the following Holding in DCC Ordinary Stock:

Of these shares 8,523,761 units are registered in the name of Bank of Ireland
Nominees Limited, 58,342 units are registered in the name of Nortrust Nominees
and 112,000 units are registered in the name of Citibank Nominees Ltd, as
registered owners only, on behalf of a range of clients who are each the
beneficial owner of a portion of the shareholding.
