                       RESUMPTION OF TRADING IN A SHARES


SPECIAL NOTICE:

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the 
Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.



An announcement on the suspension of trading in A shares was published by Datang
International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the 'Company') on 27 December 2007.
The Company intended to participate in a restructuring proposal, and as the
proposal involved substantial uncertainty, in order to safeguard the interests
of investors and avoid substantial impact on the Company's share price, the
Company applied to suspend the trading in it's A shares. The Company has had
a series of communication with the relevant parties regarding the participation
in the bankruptcy restructuring proposal of Jinhua Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. As
the conditions for such proposal are pre-mature, the Company decides that it
will not participate in the restructuring proposal for the time being. Upon the
conditions of the proposal becoming mature, the Company intends to further
participate in the restructuring proposal and an announcement will be made in
due course. The Company hereby applies for a resumption of trading in its A
shares with effect from 10 January 2008, pursuant to the relevant requirements
under The Listing Rules of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
