Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the 'Company') announces that, based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 June 2009, total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the 'Group') amounted to 61.3117 billion kWh, representing a decrease of 1.51% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation of the Group amounted to 57.7371 billion kWh, representing a decrease of 1.47% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The decrease in power generation of the Group for the first half year of 2009 over the corresponding period of the previous year was mainly attributable to:

  • An increasing number of generating units being put into operation and a decrease in utilisation hours in a majority of regions throughout the country.
