The board of directors (the 'Board of Directors') of Beijing Datang Power Generation Company Limited (the 'Company') hereby announces that while the Company originally scheduled to hold its annual general meeting for year 2002 (the 'Annual General Meeting') on 30 June 2003, the Company recently received a notice from China Datang Corporation, a shareholder of the Company holding approximately 35.43% shareholdings in the Company, that it would propose to the Annual General Meeting a change in the members of the Board of Directors. However, the details of the proposed new director(s) are still being prepared.
