F&C CAPITAL & INCOME INVESTMENT TRUST PLC



F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC has issued 450,000 ordinary shares
of 25p each at 163.5p per share to UBS Warburg. These shares will rank pari
passu with the existing ordinary shares in issue.

As a result of this issue, the total number of ordinary shares in issue now
stands at 50,228,891.

Application is being made to the UK Listing Authority for the admission of these
shares to the Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for admission to
trading.
