F&C CAPTIAL AND INCOME INVESTMENT TRUST PLC


On 11 June 2003, F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC issued 100,000
ordinary shares of 25p each. These shares were issued at 166p per share to UBS
Warburg Limited and will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares.

As a result of this issue, the total number of ordinary shares in issue now
stands at 50,328,891.

Application is being made to the UK Listing Authority for the admission of these
shares to the Official List and to the London Stock Exchange for admission to
trading.
