CATERPILLAR INC. FILES SECOND QUARTER 2012 REPORT ON FORM 10-Q

PEORIA, Ill.- 6 August 2012 - Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT / NYSE Euronext: CATR / LSE: CTA)  informs its stockholders that today, Caterpillar's second quarter 2012 quarterly results ended 30 June 2012 on Form 10-Q has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC").  The Form 10-Q filed in respect of Caterpillar can be found on the SEC Internet site (www.sec.gov).
