Croda announces that the Trustee of the Employee Benefit Trust ('the Trust')
acquired on 17 August 2005, 400,000 ordinary shares in the company for the
purposes of the Trust at a price of 400p per share.  It is intended that these
shares will be used to satisfy options granted under the Company's Senior
Executive Share Option Scheme in respect of directors and senior employees.  The
directors and persons discharging managerial responsibilities have interests in
the following shares:-
