Crimson Tide today announced that it has signed an agreement to use Microsoft's cloud platform, Windows Azure, as the foundation of the company's mpro business applications. Crimson Tide's latest version of mobility software, mpro 5, offers compatibility with iOS, Android and upcoming Windows 8 smartphones and tablets, and integrates with Windows Azure to provide current and future customers with the most secure, reliable and robust enterprise application available.

Windows Azure provides robust mechanisms for scalability, availability, and security of cloud applications. Windows Azure runs in Microsoft datacentres that have world class security controls in place backed by independent security certifications and attestations. Privacy and safeguarding of customer data are of utmost importance to Microsoft, which is why Windows Azure is offering to sign E.U. Model Contractual Clauses for its core services to provide additional contractual guarantees around transfers of personal data.  This is especially important for Crimson Tide's customers involved in the healthcare sector, where securing patient information is fundamental to application development.
