Cohen(A.) & Co PLC 16 April 2003 16 April 2003 A. Cohen & Co. plc (the 'Company') Disposal of ATMs The Company announces that it has sold 38 Automatic Teller Machines ('ATMs') back to Scott Tod Developments Limited ('Scott Tod') for a consideration of £152,000 in cash, under the terms of the agreement entered into with Scott Tod, announced on 7 August 2002. Pursuant to that agreement, Scott Tod exercised the call option to acquire all of the ATMs it had previously sold to the Company at cost. The ATMs were subject to a rental agreement with Scott Tod whereby the Company agreed to let on hire the ATMs at a cost of £3,800 per month. The proceeds of the disposal, together with the £750,000 proceeds of the proposed sale by the Company of its Woolwich site announced on 31 March 2003, will be used to reduce indebtedness of the Company and for working capital purposes. The Company continues to hold its 20 per cent. equity shareholding in Scott Tod. Scott Tod is an Independent ATM Deployer and one of the leading cash handling machine providers in the United Kingdom. Royce Ritchie, the Chairman, commented; 'This disposal of 38 ATMs back to Scott Tod is in line with our strategy of restructuring A. Cohen and focusing on our media related activities. Following this disposal and the proposed sale of the Woolwich property, we will have realised just over £900,000 before expenses. The Directors believe that the Company continues to have a valuable asset in its 20 per cent. shareholding in Scott Tod. As previously announced during 2002, the Company had sought to acquire the balance of Scott Tod for up to approximately £5.4 million.' Enquiries: A.
