The Company has been notified by The Capital Group Companies,
Inc. on behalf of its affiliates, including Capital Guardian
Trust Company, Capital International Limited, Capital
International S.A. and Capital International, Inc. (together
'CGC'), pursuant to section 67 of the Companies Act 1990,
that as at 5 October 2000 CGC had an interest in 19,597,011
Ordinary Shares of CRH plc representing 4.73 per cent of the
Company's issued Ordinary Share Capital.
