Crest Nicholson Plc announces the allotment of 630,000 Ordinary shares of 10p
each. These shares, which rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares in
issue have been allotted to Crest Nicholson Quest Trustee Limited as trustee of
The Crest Nicholson Qualifying Employee Share Trust.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and UK Listing Authority
for the admission to the Official List of these shares and listing is expected
to become effective on 19 April 2002.
