Aberdeen Latin American Inv Tst PLC 26 June 2003 26 June 2003 ABERDEEN LATIN AMERICAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC RESULT OF EGM AND BOARD CHANGES The Board of Aberdeen Latin American Investment Trust PLC (the 'Company') is pleased to announce that, at the extraordinary general meeting held today, shareholders overwhelmingly voted in favour of the Continuation Resolutions and, at the warrantholders meeting also held today, a substantial majority of warrantholders voted in favour of reducing the subscription price of the warrants from 100p to 85p. As a result, the Company will now change its investment objective to providing capital growth and income from a portfolio of mining and resource equities and of mining, resource and industrial fixed interest securities, and its manager to Midas Capital Partners Limited ('Midas'). In line with these changes the Company has changed its name to City Natural Resources High Yield Trust plc. As a result of these changes, Radhika Ajmera, Christopher Edge and Christopher Little have all resigned as non-executive directors of the Company with immediate effect, and Adam Cooke and Michael Coulson have been appointed as non-executive directors. There is no information which is required to be disclosed by either Adam Cooke or Michael Coulson pursuant to paragraph 6.F.2 (b) - (g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and neither has held a directorship in any other publicly quoted company at any time in the previous five years. As stated in the circular dispatched to shareholders and warrantholders on 3 June 2003, Midas expects to have completed the transition to a new portfolio consistent with the revised objective by the end of July 2003. Michael was a senior mining analyst at Phillips & Drew from 1982 until 1986, when he joined Kitcat & Aitken's mining department as an executive director, where he remained until 1990. Michael was head of African research at Credit Lyonnais Laing from 1992 until 1994, when he took up the same position at Nedcor Securities until 1996. He was head of global mining research at Paribas from 1998 to 2000. Michael is currently chairman of the Association of Mining Analysts. Adam Cooke (age 43): Adam is a global partner of AMVESCAP PLC, one of the world's largest independent investment management organizations where he works for INVESCO UK which had assets of £19.5 billion as at 31 March 2003. Adam joined INVESCO in 1976 and his experience includes the UK institutional business including investment trusts and collective investments. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
