Costain Group PLC announces that Paul Golby has indicated his intention to step down as chair and from the Board within the next 12 months once a suitable successor has been appointed.  Paul joined the Board as chair and non-executive director in 2016.  He has navigated the Group to a position of delivering an improved operating and financial performance this year, strengthened management and outlined a clear strategy to deliver growth and value.

The Nomination Committee, led by Tony Quinlan as senior independent director, will begin a search for Paul's successor in due course.

Dr Paul Golby CBE said: "It has been a privilege to be part of Costain over the last six years and I look forward to my remaining time as chair.  The Group is now well positioned to generate sustainable growth in the future and I feel this is the right time to undertake a search for my successor."
