CTRL and St Pancras

Costain Group PLC 14 November 2007 COSTAIN GROUP PLC ('Costain') Eurostar Trains Commence Services Costain is delighted to have played a major role as part of the CORBER joint venture in the refurbishment of St Pancras station, part of the £5.8 billion Channel Tunnel Rail Link and St Pancras refurbishment project. The first scheduled train services commence operation into and from St Pancras today. At the official opening of the new St Pancras Station and Eurostar Terminus last week, specific mention was made of the highly technical and intricate nature of the work undertaken. In particular, it was noted that the project, which took 10 years to complete, was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget. Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said: 'This was a flagship project not just for Costain but for the country as a whole, probably the largest and most complex civil engineering project undertaken since the Thames Barrier which Costain also played a key part in. 'We are proud to have been a part of this major achievement. It is a great testimony to the skills and capability of Costain and our joint venture partners, and we look forward to securing further such prestigious projects in the future.' 14 November 2007 ENQUIRIES: Costain Group PLC Tel: 01628 842 444 Graham Read, Public Relations College Hill Tel: 020 7457 2020 Mark Garraway Matthew Gregorowski This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange
