COGAP contract win

Costain Group PLC 17 January 2002 COSTAIN GROUP PLC £60m contract for COGAP Burlington Resources Inc has announced the signing of a £60 million contract for a gas compression and treatment plant at Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, with Costain Group PLC ('Costain'). Project management, detailed engineering, procurement of components and construction are included in the contract, which will be performed by Costain Group division, Costain Oil, Gas & Process Ltd. The plant is part of the development of the Rivers Fields in the East Irish Sea, which are estimated to contain recoverable resources of between 350 and 400 billion cubic feet of natural gas. Work on the plant will begin shortly and is expected to be completed by around the end of 2003. Offshore gas production is expected to reach approximately 120 million cubic feet per day in 2004. The Rivers Fields, which are named after British rivers, are located in the East Irish Sea between the British mainland and the Isle of Man. The nearest field to shore is approximately 12 miles west of the English coast and 24 miles north of the Welsh coast.
