Aminuddin Lana Appointed as Non-Executive Director

Aminuddin Yusof Lana, a nominee of Daedalus Projects Limited was 
appointed to the Board of Costain Group PLC as a Non-Executive 
Director with effect from Tuesday, 21 March 2000.  Mr Lana has not 
held a Directorship in a public quoted company on the London Stock 
Exchange in the last 5 years.  There are no details to report in 
respect of paragraphs 6.F 2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.  Mr Lana 
is the Managing Director of Intria Berhad which is listed on the 
Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Malaysia.

On the 21 March 2000 Mr Yusli bin Mohamed Yusoff, also a nominee of 
Daedalus Projects Limited, resigned from the Board of Costain Group PLC.
