                     Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting


Coral has today posted a circular to shareholders giving notice of an
Extraordinary General Meeting to be held at 12.15 p.m. on 24 September 2004, or
as soon thereafter as the Annual General Meeting which is scheduled to start at
12 noon on the same day has concluded, at the Lowry Hotel, Chapel Wharf,
Manchester.

The circular sets out details of and seeks retrospective approval by independent
shareholders for certain historic transactions that were an inadvertent breach
of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.

A copy of the circular and the notice of the Extraordinary General Meeting will
shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
