The Company is pleased to announce that it has placed firm 2,520,000 new
ordinary shares of at a price of 13.5p per share, which will raise £340,200
(548,710 EURO) before expenses, to be used by the Company as working capital and
to finance the current phase of the Company's mineral exploration programmes in
Ireland and Finland.

Application has today been made for the 2,520,000 new ordinary shares of the
Company to be admitted to trading on the Alternative Investment Market of the
London Stock Exchange.

The new shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing ordinary
shares of the Company and dealings are expected to commence on 4 March 2002.
