Concurrent Technologies PLC 25 February 2005 Concurrent Technologies Plc Co-developed product with Thales Computers Concurrent Technologies (the 'company'), a leading manufacturer of high-end embedded computer products, announces the launch of a new computer product, VP 315-RC, a co-development with Thales Computers, as part of the company's joint development agreement. The VP 315-RC is a ruggedised conduction cooled VME single board computer utilizing the 1.2GHz Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor together with Intel's low-power and highly integrated 855GME chipset. This is a highly rugged computer board which is aimed at the defence, homeland security and transportation markets. The electronics and software were developed by Concurrent Technologies and the ruggedisation was undertaken by Thales Computers The agreement with Thales Computers, made in April 2004, enables both companies to go to market sooner with new products, while addressing a wider range of customer needs. Thales Computers' patented RuggedizerTM technology is used to transform the commercial version of a single board computer into a rugged product. Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies, commented: 'There is a clear contribution to this project from both companies, thus minimizing joint development risks. The result is a new product available to both sets of customers who will enjoy an exceptionally rugged product that can withstand very high shock and vibrations levels at extreme temperature ranges and it does not require any airflow across the board.
