   Compass Group PLC - Total Voting Rights and Capital As at 31 January 2007


In conformity with rule 5.6.1 of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Compass
Group PLC confirms that as at 31 January 2007 its issued share capital consists
of 2,041,069,158 ordinary shares of 10p each. The total number of voting rights
in respect of these ordinary shares is 2,041,069,158, each ordinary share having 
one vote. Compass Group PLC does not hold any ordinary shares in treasury.

The above figure, 2,041,069,158 may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculation by which they will determine whether they are required to 
notify their interest in, or change to their interest in, Compass Group PLC 
under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
