Appointment of Director of Investor Relations



Compass Group plc today confirms the appointment of Sarah Ellis to the newly
created role of Director of Investor Relations. Sarah will join Compass Group in
July.

Sarah started her career with Price Waterhouse, qualifying as a Chartered
Accountant in 1992.  After eight years with the firm in both London and New
York, she moved into the City in 1996 to become an equity analyst.  For the last
three years, Sarah has been the Director of European Hotel and Leisure Equity
Research at ABN AMRO.

Andrew Lynch, Group Finance Director said:

'Sarah brings with her a wealth of both corporate and equity market experience
and is well established within the international investment community.  We are
delighted that she is joining us, she will be a great addition to the Compass
Group team.'
